One of us prefers the vast mountain pastures of the Żywiecki Beskids, the other is drawn to the stunning Poprad Gorge in the heart of the Sądecki Beskids. One is fascinated by the history of World War I in the Niski Beskids, the other by the breathtaking panoramas of the Raczański Wedge. We enjoy long, all-day or multi-day treks just as much as short trips to unique spots.
No matter what you’re looking for in the mountains – a hike with friends, a team-building trip, a school excursion, a quick training session, an unusual place to catch a sunrise or sunset, or maybe a cycling tour – we’ve got you covered.
Do you enjoy summer trips, or are you curious to experience what a winter expedition in the mountains is like?
Let us know – we’ll tailor the route to your needs and abilities. We’ll help you choose where to start, where to park, where to eat, and where to stay. We speak English so you don’t have to speak Polish and still feel like you’re local!
We’re from Jasło, just a step away from the Niski Beskids. We took our first hikes in the Magura range with our father, back before the Magurski National Park was even established – over 30 years ago. Later, we often wandered through the beautiful beech forests of the Niski Beskids and spent holidays in Iwonicz-Zdrój and Rymanów-Zdrój – the region’s largest health resorts. Lately, it’s been Lake Klimkówka and the attractions around Gorlice that keep drawing us back to this area.
We’ve always camped in the Bieszczady Mountains and the neighboring Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains – first with our parents, later hitchhiking with friends. We’ve crossed the famous Bieszczady meadows (połoniny) many times, as well as the lesser-known trails where you can still feel that legendary „end-of-the-world” Bieszczady atmosphere.
We love the Gorce Mountains above all for their numerous mountain pastures and the beautiful pastoral history reaching back to the 15th century, as well as the stunning views of the Tatra Mountains and sunrises from Turbacz. But Gorce also means Rabka-Zdrój – to Gorce what Zakopane is to the Tatras. And just nearby lie the Rabczańskie Gorce, with scenic, easier, and more accessible walking trails.
The Pieniny Mountains offer Trzy Korony (Three Crowns), the beautiful Szopczański Gorge, the Dunajec River raft trip, as well as one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Beskids. There’s also the intriguing history of Polish-Hungarian border disputes and spectacular views of the Tatra Mountains from our secret, local lookout points in the nearby Spiska Magura.
We’ve explored the Sądecki Beskids on foot, by bike, by gondola lift, and by train – and still can’t decide which is the most beautiful: the long-distance Main Beskid Trail (Główny Szlak Beskidzki), the scenic Velo Dunajec cycling route, or perhaps the meandering train ride from Tarnów to Leluchów?
The neighboring Wyspowy Beskids (Island), now more popular, are where we like to really challenge ourselves and be rewarded with panoramic views from scenic pastures rising above a sea of fog. We love the majestic Mogielica, but also the less frequented yet equally attractive „islands” rising above Mszana Dolna or Limanowa.
We visit the Queen of the Beskids – Babia Góra – regularly, just to check in and say hello from time to time. The most popular route leads from Krowiarki Pass, the most beautiful is the Perć Przyrodników (Nature Trail), the most comfortable is via the Górny Płaj path past the mountain hut, and the oldest route leads over Mała Babia Góra.
To the west lies Pilsko, and the beautiful, empty pastures above the Sopotnia Valley, dotted with mountain shelters like Rysianka and Lipowska. And there’s the still-wild but well-developed Raczański Wedge. There’s always a good time and reason to visit the Żywiecki Beskids.
The Śląskie Beskids (Silesian) above the well-connected towns of Ustroń and Wisła invite us to rediscover the sources of the Vistula and Olza Rivers. This border range holds the fascinating and forgotten history of the Polish-Czechoslovak conflict, a cable car to Skrzyczne or Szyndzielnia, and a mountain hut with a swimming pool!
We even have a soft spot for the Mały Beskids (Small) – the „little brother” of the Beskids. Though small, it’s unique: few mountain ranges can boast a reservoir at the top of a mountain, with Lake Mucharskie to the east and Lake Żywieckie to the west. When you’re tired of forest trails, you can hop in a boat or on a bike for a change.
